Many members join Rotary because they wish to make a difference to their local community. The broad range of ages in our club has enabled us to initiate projects across a varied range of community groups. The bulk of money raised goes back to our local community or to support Rotary International projects.
Recent successful projects include: Tumbarumba2Kokoda - 2007, 2009 & 2011, 2013 - aims to encourage strength, ideals and confidence in rural youth; Bowelscan is an annual Rotary initiative in conjunction with the local chemist to screen for bowel cancer at a low cost; Exchange students both incoming & outgoing. Recent students have been hosted from Germany, France, Finland & Sweden. Zoey went on exchange to Brazil and Caitlin to Sweden; Hannes from Sweden was hosted from July 2012-July 2013.
Talking Tumbarumba Times - an ongoing community project that provides the weekly paper read onto tapes, by local volunteers, for those who find it difficult to read it themselves.
